Would this be appropriate for kids ages 7-10? The concept sounds like it without reading the actual rules because destruction is kind of a kid’s jam. ;)
If so would it be possible me to get a community copy to use with students this coming year? Thanks!
Hi! Just put more community copies in, feel free to grab them. I think you could absolutely play it with kids, let me know what your students think about it if you do :))
Thank you! I absolutely will once I get the project started. I’m going to start with a few options and add more for them to pick from as the year goes on. :)
Just played a little game of this with a few friends who don't have much tabletop experience. They had a lot of fun! We invented a little mushroom village with a watermill, a cinema, a PE teacher, and a drudge in an office job.
I would recommend Google Jamboard as a useful enough tool if something like Roll20 is proving difficult for anyone.
I think so, yeah! The mechanics are pretty simple, and since everyone can play the ghost and the scenes can be played out or simply described, even if you are still getting used to role playing you’ll be able to play it no problem :))
And if you’d like to see people playing this game to familiarize with the mechanics here’s a completely unhinged play through of it where I couldn’t stop laughing: https://youtu.be/hSvgSj7J5jo
I actually used the main setting of the campaign I'm running as the setting for a session of this, and on top of us having a lot of fun doing it, I think my players are looking forwards to seeing the effects it will have on the main game and seeing the NPCs and settings we made turn up!
(It helps that there's already been lots of Ghostly Happenings in the story.)
I’ve played several times now, each session was fantastic! I appreciate that the rules are so concise and easy to understand, easy to pick up and play at short notice. Can’t wait to play again soon!
Untitled Ghost Game is an absolute delight! It's so whimsical and mischievous! And by the end of the game you have a fully fledged town. I'm looking forward to playing this game again!
